“Excellence (is) expected”
DBI Directors, Associate Directors, Associates, Managers, Professionals and Graduates rotate from StudioEx, to the DBI Design practice to ensure continued innovation and professional development. Research is seamlessly integrated into our work. Expect the Exceptional.
Advanced computer modelling
Innovation does not happen in a vacuum, ideas that appear radical, EXTREME and even transgressive are most often the result of rigorous cumulative research and development. Cultural, environmental and technological research is the cornerstone of StudioEx and the DBI practice.
Advanced computer modelling is a powerful design tool but when combined with 3D printing and 3d prototyping the resolution power is EXTRAORDINARY. StudioEx investigates the most powerful tools and processes, evaluates their efficiency and efficacy. The research ensures the designs teams have the tools to not only imagine the EXTRAORDINARY, but also to visualise, communicate, document and construct the Extraordinary.
In partnership with our Universities, the Centre for Sub-Tropical Design Collaborative Practices and our own independent research and Experimentation, StudioEx informs all of DBI’s decision making. Climatic responsive design is not a style nor an architectural language, it is the intimate connection between the climate, place and the built environment.
Sometimes the most dramatic solution can be arrived at from simple principles. A deep understanding of construction techniques and methodology’s via StudioEx allow DBI to innovate on even the tightest budget.
